Biography
Professional Background
Dr. Robertson is a board-certified general surgeon with The John Lawson Surgical Group. He grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He attended college at David Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. While at David Lipscomb University he met his wife, Julie. They attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky. After completing his general surgical residency at East Tennessee State University, he joined the John Lawson Surgical Group.
Clinical Interests
From the beginning of his residency training, he has expressed a strong interest in the field of laparoscopy or minimally invasive surgery. Throughout his residency, he focused on laparoscopy and how to apply laparoscopy to other areas in general surgery. His surgical interests include laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery including laparoscopic colon surgery, hernia surgery, and breast surgery. He is accredited as a Master Surgeon and Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation. Dr. Robertson takes great pride in being a physician and a surgeon.
Personal
Dr. Robertson is married to Dr. Julie Robertson, a pathologist with Watauga Pathology Associates. They have three sons and one daughter. They are active members at Central Church of Christ in Johnson City. Dr. Robertson enjoys fly fishing as well as reading.
